The Caltrain station at Belmont was recently upgraded as part of Ponderosa
Grade Separation Project. It's not as nice as the new depot at San Mateo,
but with its imposing height above the downtown, and a well light station clock,
it's evocative of another era.
On a midsummer's evening, as the sunset draws near, Caltrain 78
pulls into Belmont with commuters from San Francisco.
A few minutes later, Caltrain 71 arrives in Belmont, bearing
passengers from points south.
