Palo Alto boasts a beautiful art deco concrete depot, dating back to the 1930s. Now
a Caltrain stop, large numbers of passengers board and disembark here each day. For many years,
I've commuted from San Carlos, Belmont, and Hillsdale to Palo Alto, either to school at
Stanford (west side of the tracks) or to work downtown (east side of the tracks).
On an overcast afternoon, a southbound Caltrain commute, led
by recently rebuilt F40PH 900, pulls into Palo Alto.
The skies begin to clear at sunset, as things get busy
during the commute rush hour.
