Interlocking Towers are another disappearing feature on the
railroad scene. This ornate brick tower at the south end of Union Station
stands guard at the intersection of BNSF and UP rails. No longer manned, the
metal shed nearby houses the communications gear which has replaced the tower
operator. |
Late in the afternoon, an Amtrak SW1200 puts together
the Portland section of the Empire Builder. |
